About Fasti Verolani

For five summer evenings, the historic center of Veroli, a medieval village in the Ciociaria region, transforms into a vast open-air stage. Fasti Verolani, an international street theatre festival established in 2000, brings squares, alleys, and staircases to life with clowns, acrobats, magicians, puppeteers, and musicians from all over the world. Dozens of continuous performances run from sunset to midnight, curated by the artistic direction of Terzostudio. It is one of Italy's premier events dedicated to street arts, located in the heart of the Frosinone province.

A village turned into a theatre

Every summer, between late July and early August, the Fasti Verolani transforms Veroli into a unique, widespread festival. Squares, staircases, cloisters, courtyards of historic palaces, and even the bell tower become natural stages. For five consecutive evenings, the public wanders through the alleys of the historic center, moving from one show to another in a continuous flow of street theatre, contemporary circus, clowning, magic, puppetry, and live music.

Twenty-five years of history

Born in 2000, the festival has grown edition after edition to become one of the most important Italian events dedicated to street arts, attracting thousands of spectators of all ages every year. In 2026, Fasti Verolani celebrates its 25th edition, confirming a formula that combines top-tier international artists with the charm of a perfectly preserved medieval village.

The formula: color-coded areas and continuous performances

The historic center is divided into thematic areas identified by colors — green, ochre, sepia, magenta, light blue, red, lilac, and blue — each with its own stages and performance spots: from Sant'Erasmo to the Augustinian Cloister, from Piazza Duomo to Piazza Trulli, from Largo Catena to the Town Hall, from the Bishop's Terrace to Piazza Santa Salome, and up to the Bishop's Garden and Piazza Palestrina. Shows repeat multiple times per evening, from 7:00 PM until midnight, allowing every spectator to create their own itinerary. The "flavors and markets" areas complete the experience with local products and handicrafts.

Circus, clowning, magic, and music from around the world

Each year, the lineup hosts dozens of Italian and international companies: acrobats and jugglers, clowns and mimes, illusionists, marionettists and puppeteers, roaming orchestras and marching bands, vertical dance on monuments, and fire shows. Alongside big names in urban theatre, there is space for productions in the local Ciociaro dialect and projects dedicated to children: the Fasti have always been a festival for families, where children and adults share the same sense of wonder.

The artistic direction of Terzostudio

The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Veroli in collaboration with the Pro Loco Association, while the artistic direction is entrusted to Terzostudio progetti per lo spettacolo, one of the most renowned names in the national urban theatre and outdoor performance scene. This long-standing partnership ensures a high-level selection every year, featuring artists from all over Europe and Latin America.

Veroli, a jewel of Ciociaria

Nestled in the Ernici Mountains just a few kilometers from Frosinone, in southern Lazio, Veroli is one of the most fascinating art cities in the Ciociaria region: featuring cyclopean walls, Romanesque churches, noble palaces, and panoramic views over the Sacco Valley. The festival is also a perfect opportunity to discover the village's heritage and traditional Ciociaro flavors while hopping from one festive square to another.

Fasti Verolani — edition 2026

The 25th edition of Fasti Verolani takes place from Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, August 2, 2026: five evenings featuring about thirty Italian and international companies spread across the color-coded areas of Veroli's historic center. The lineup includes vertical dance by Cafelulè on the bell tower, the "dove magician" Mirco Menegatti, the foot theatre of Veronica Gonzalez, the Argentine circus of Compañia Simpañia and Juan Guiraud, the card magic of Andrea Mancusi, and the roaming bands Badabimbumband and The Urgonauts.

For the 25th edition, Fasti Verolani returns to animate the historic center of Veroli for five consecutive evenings, from Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, August 2, 2026. The official program, published by the Municipality of Veroli under the artistic direction of Terzostudio, distributes shows across the usual color-coded areas of the village: Sant'Erasmo, Augustinian Cloister, Piazza Duomo, Piazza Trulli, Largo Catena, Town Hall, Palazzo Campanari, Bishop's Terrace, Piazza Palestrina, Bishop's Garden, and Piazza Santa Salome.

The lineup alternates Italian artists and international companies from Argentina, Spain, and New Zealand, featuring contemporary circus, clowning, card magic, puppetry, improvisation, comedy in the Ciociaro dialect, fire shows, and vertical dance on the Piazza Palestrina bell tower. The evenings are accompanied by roaming bands and concerts on the Piazza Duomo churchyard, while the "flavors and markets" areas offer local products and handicrafts. Evening admission is €5, pass is €18, with free entry for children up to 14 years old.
