The self-managed festival of April 25th at Kennedy Park in Falconara
The Falkatraz Festival is the event that, every year on the Liberation Day, enlivens Kennedy Park in Falconara Marittima, in the province of Ancona. Promoted by the association Falkatraz ODV along with a network of local collectives and organizations, the festival is a self-managed, free, and intergenerational event that combines live music, anti-fascist popular culture, street art, and social commitment.
The day is built around an intense and varied musical program: from punk to funky, from folk rock to reggae, up to Italian singer-songwriter music and hardcore. Emerging bands from the Marche scene take turns on stage, often accompanied by a final jam session that unites young musicians with the most established artists on the local scene.
Alongside the music, there are talks and book presentations dedicated to the memory of the Resistance and grassroots cultures, information booths from associations, an artisan market, and live painting performances. Attention is also paid to the youngest attendees, with creative and woodworking workshops designed for families.
Falkatraz was born as a self-management laboratory: the event relies on volunteer work, a social bar and kitchen, and the reclaiming of public spaces as places for meeting and socializing. It's a way to give back a vibrant park to the city, where the April 25th celebration becomes an occasion for collective participation rather than a simple commemoration.
For almost twenty years, Falkatraz has been a reference point for the alternative scene in Falconara and throughout the Marche region. Various editions have involved social centers, environmental collectives, and cultural associations, intertwining music, ecology, and anti-fascism in a single day. The festival traditionally takes place at Kennedy Park, with a possible move indoors in case of bad weather.
The 2026 edition of the Falkatraz Festival, the nineteenth, confirmed the formula of the self-managed day at Kennedy Park in Falconara Marittima, promoted by Falkatraz ODV, MusicoEmotiva, Jassart Association, and the Municipality of Falconara Marittima.
From the morning, the park came alive with collective preparations, DJ sets, the social bar, and the "Le Ali alla Terra" agrofoodtruck. In the afternoon, eight emerging bands took the stage, playing punk, funky, folk rock, reggae, Italian pop, and hardcore, while workshops, markets, and discussion moments took place in the green areas. The heart of the edition was the public tribute to Fabrizio and Andrea, figures who marked the musical and social life of the territory.

The Falkatraz Festival is held on April 25th every year at Kennedy Park in Falconara Marittima (AN). In case of bad weather, activities are moved to indoor spaces nearby.
Admission is free. The event is self-funded: there is a social bar and self-managed refreshment stands.
Kennedy Park is located in the center of Falconara Marittima, easily reachable by train (Falconara Marittima station on the Adriatic line) and by car from the Ancona Nord exit of the A14 highway.
