The pop culture festival of Falconara Marittima
FalComics is the festival dedicated to pop culture that, in just a few years, has transformed Falconara Marittima, in the province of Ancona, into one of the most attended events in the Marche region. The formula is that of a festival city: not a closed exhibition center, but the entire city center becomes a widespread entertainment space, from Parco Kennedy to Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza Mazzini, Piazza Catalani, and via Nino Bixio.
The festival brings together all facets of contemporary pop culture under one umbrella: comics and illustration, gaming and eSports, cinema and series, cosplay, cartoon theme song music, and Asian culture. The various themed areas โ including Music Village, Media Zone, Artist Alley, Community Village, and East Village โ allow the public to move from concerts to masterclasses by illustrators, from eSports tournaments to board game areas, up to market stalls and food trucks.
One of FalComics' distinctive features is free admission: a choice that has helped make it a mass event, capable of attracting families, enthusiasts, and cosplayers from all over Italy. The 2026 edition, titled Wonder, concluded with approximately 190,000 attendees, over ninety guests, and about ten themed areas, confirming the event as a national benchmark in the sector.
FalComics is organized by LEG Live Emotion Group in collaboration with the Municipality of Falconara Marittima and the network of local associations. Founded in 2021, the festival has grown edition after edition to become one of the symbolic events of the Marche's cultural summer, capable of uniting big names in international comics and illustration with the popular and family-friendly dimension typical of town festivals.
The 2026 edition of FalComics, the fifth of the event, had the theme Wonder, a call to rediscover a curious and unbiased perspective towards the world of imagination. The festival city of Falconara Marittima extended from Parco Kennedy to the central squares, recording approximately 190,000 attendees over three days.
The visual identity for the edition was entrusted to comic artist Elena Casagrande, winner of the Eisner Award. The event, organized by LEG Live Emotion Group with the Municipality of Falconara Marittima, confirmed itself as one of Italy's leading pop culture events.
The 2026 edition featured over ten themed areas, four stages, 92 guests, and approximately 86 scheduled events, with the participation of 22 associations:
The three days included an exhibition market from 11:00 AM to midnight and festival activities from the afternoon until late evening.
Falconara Marittima is located on the Adriatic coast, in the province of Ancona. It is served by the Falconara Marittima railway station on the Adriatic line and by the Marche Airport (Ancona-Falconara), just a few minutes from the center. By car, take the Ancona Nord exit of the A14 highway.
Access to all festival areas is free.
During the festival days, parking and traffic restrictions are in effect in the center: it is advisable to use peripheral parking lots and dedicated shuttle buses. It is recommended to consult the official website for updated schedules and area maps.
