Riccia, the Molise lead town for the XXXIV edition, exploring its castle, churches, and palaces normally closed to the public
The Spring FAI Days are the major national event organized by the Italian Environment Fund (FAI), which each year opens art and nature sites to the public, many of which are normally closed. In 2026, for its XXXIV edition, Riccia (CB) has been chosen as the main venue for Molise, with the spotlight on its rich historic center in the Fortore region.
The welcome point is Piazza Sedati, from which four independent thematic routes depart, accompanied by the Apprentice Cic erones from the "G. Galilei" Scientific High School:
Each itinerary lasts about an hour, and you can choose one or more. Visits are supported by donations to the FAI Foundation and offer a unique opportunity to discover the historical and artistic layers of Riccia, from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period.
The XXXIV edition of the Spring FAI Days saw Riccia as the protagonist for Molise on March 21 and 22, 2026. From the welcome point in Piazza Sedati, four thematic routes unfolded, accompanied by students from the "G. Galilei" High School acting as Apprentice Cic erones.
Four itineraries, active Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with welcome at Piazza Sedati:
Each itinerary lasts approximately 60 minutes; you can choose one or more.
The visit to the De Capua Castle and the tomb of Costanza di Chiaramonte, the only queen buried in Molise.
Riccia (CB) is reachable by car via the SS17; approximately 30 km from Campobasso. The welcome point is in Piazza Sedati.
Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM (last entry 12:30 PM) and 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM (last entry 5:30 PM).
