The European Solstice Festival

The European Music Festival is an international event that every June 21, on the occasion of the summer solstice, involves hundreds of cities and thousands of artists across Europe. Born in France (Fête de la Musique), it is promoted by the European Commission and the Ministry of Culture. Bergamo also joins, transforming the city center into a large, widespread stage.

Music in Every Square

Around June 21, 2026, Bergamo's squares, courtyards, and public spaces will be filled with music: jazz, pop, gospel, rock, classical, soul, and folk will resonate in numerous locations throughout the city. The event is a great, free popular festival, open to everyone—amateurs and professionals—who wish to perform for a curious and engaged audience.

A City Celebrating

The organization is handled by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bergamo in collaboration with the Cinema and Art Association. Among the main venues, Piazza Cittadella often hosts major concerts, while street bands and musicians liven up the historic streets and courtyards, coordinated by local music organizations. There's also cinema, with themed screenings in the city's courtyards.

The Music Festival is an opportunity to experience Bergamo, in the heart of Lombardy, on one of the longest and brightest evenings of the year. Between the Upper and Lower Town, music becomes the common thread of a collective celebration that welcomes the arrival of summer and the pleasure of being together outdoors.
