Ferragosto in Eraclea
The Festeggiamenti dell'Assunta (Celebrations of the Assumption) is the mid-August festival in Eraclea (province of Venice), a town on the Venetian coast also known for its seaside resort, Eraclea Mare. The event takes place in the main town, in Piazza Garibaldi, around the feast of the Assumption (August 15th), and is one of the community's most cherished summer events.
The Polenta Tradition
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the polenta with ribs, grilled or stewed according to the local peasant recipe, symbolizing the connection with the Veneto's rural culture. Alongside, the food stand and bar offer other specialties in a village festival atmosphere.
Engines, Music, and Fireworks
The program alternates various activities: beer fest, American motorcycle exhibitions and car gatherings, music nights, DJ sets, and rock concerts, as well as a funfair. The highlight is the Ferragosto fireworks display, which lights up the coastal night. The event is organized with the involvement of the Municipality of Eraclea.
