Eggplant Festival

The 2025 debut

The Eggplant Festival debuted in Paolisi, in the province of Benevento, on the evening of Sunday, August 31, 2025, with doors opening at 8:00 PM. The initiative was created by the Pro Loco of Paolisi, which wanted to provide the town with an identity-defining event, choosing the eggplant as its star—a vegetable widely grown in the gardens of the Valle Caudina and a pillar of late-summer Campanian cuisine.

A first time that became a tradition

Concentrated into a single evening, the inaugural edition served as a test: village gastronomy, outdoor tables, and entertainment in the heart of the town center, closing out the summer season. The feedback encouraged the Pro Loco to relaunch the event in 2026 in an expanded format, over two days and with three dining moments, in the 'Gino Strada' Municipal Gardens. In just a few months, the Eggplant Festival thus entered the calendar of late-August festivals in the province of Benevento.
