Creative craft and food markets at the foot of the medieval village
In the heart of the Val d'Arda, in the province of Piacenza, Castell'Arquato is one of the most fascinating medieval villages in Emilia-Romagna, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. It is here that, throughout the year, Curiosando a Castell'Arquato comes to life, the market event organized by Val d'Arda Promotion that transforms Piazza Europa and Via Roma into an open-air route of stalls, at the foot of the historic center.
The soul of the event is variety: exhibitors offer creative crafts, hobby items, antiques and vintage, rarities, original pieces, gift ideas, and a selection of gastronomic delicacies from the Piacenza area. It is the ideal opportunity for those who love to browse, find that special item, or take home a taste of the flavors of the Val d'Arda.
The markets are held on holidays and weekends, generally with continuous hours from 9 am to 7 pm. The schedule runs from spring to the Christmas period: the late November and December events are part of the Winterland program, the festive atmosphere that envelops the village. The March event coincides with the historic Fiera di San Giuseppe.
Strolling through the stalls is also a pretext to discover Castell'Arquato: from the Rocca Viscontea to the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria, from the Palazzo del Podestร to the alleys leading to the top of the village, the village offers a unique setting. The event has free admission, and in case of bad weather, events may be canceled or postponed.
For 2026, the event confirms its itinerant format with appointments spread from spring to the Christmas period in the village of Castell'Arquato, in the province of Piacenza.
Indicative hours for each day: from 9 am to 7 pm, in Piazza Europa and Via Roma. In case of bad weather, events may be canceled or postponed.
