The great spring exhibition-market in the historic center of Crevalcore
The Crevalcore Flower Festival is one of the most cherished spring events in the Bolognese plain. Every year, at the beginning of spring, the historic center of the Municipality of Crevalcore, in the province of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna), transforms into a large open-air exhibition-market, illuminated by the thousand colors of flowers and plants. The streets of the center, starting from Via Giacomo Matteotti, fill with stalls, scents, and people strolling in search of the right idea for their garden, terrace, or vegetable patch.
The heart of the festival is the exhibition-market of plants, flowers, vegetable gardens, and orchards. Nurserymen, floriculturists, and specialized exhibitors present seasonal blooms, aromatic and medicinal plants, vegetable garden essences, fruit trees, gardening equipment, and accessories. It is the ideal opportunity for those who love greenery to stock up on new plants and receive practical advice directly from those who cultivate them.
The event is organized by Pro Loco Crevalcore APS, which sets up its own gastronomic stand during the festival. Here you can taste two symbols of local tradition: gnocco fritto, the queen of Emilian cuisine, and especially the Brazadela Tonda De.C.O., the typical sweet of Crevalcore protected by the Municipal Designation of Origin, to be enjoyed together on a festive day.
The Flower Festival is not just about shopping: among the collateral initiatives, there is a bike ride and an excursion to Parco Abbati, with in-depth sessions and seminars dedicated to pollinating insects, curated by the association LIANS Crevalcore. A way to combine the spring festival with a message of attention to biodiversity and the environment, perfect for families and nature enthusiasts.
With free admission and a single day packed with offerings from 8 am to 8 pm, the Flower Festival is a perfect opportunity for a spring outing to Crevalcore. Amidst the colors, scents, and flavors of tradition, the event tells the identity of an agricultural territory in Emilia-Romagna that celebrates the rebirth of nature with the usual care.
