About Cori Civitas Vini

Cori Civitas Vini – Journeys of Taste is a food and wine festival that, between spring and a weekend in May, transforms the village of Cori, in the Lepini Mountains near Latina, into a true capital of Lazio wine. Open wineries, artisan workshops, masterclasses, and the 'Giardino del Gusto' (Garden of Taste) in the monumental complex of Sant'Oliva invite visitors to discover the native Bellone and Nero Buono grape varieties, Itrana olive oil, wine-cured ham, and local cheeses, amidst tastings, culture, and tradition.

Cori Civitas Vini, the wine festival of the Lepini Mountains

Cori Civitas Vini – Journeys of Taste is the food and wine event celebrating the viticultural heritage of Cori, an ancient village in the Lepini Mountains in the province of Latina, in the heart of Lazio. Promoted by the Municipality of Cori in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and under the patronage of the Lazio Regional Council, the festival showcases a town that has made wine its identity—its own 'civitas'—for centuries.

A land of native grape varieties

At the heart of the event are the native vines that define the Cori DOC: Bellone, an ancient, mineral white, and Nero Buono, the signature red of the Cori area. Beyond wine, the festival highlights other iconic products of the Lepini region: Itrana cultivar extra virgin olive oil, wine-cured ham, cheeses, traditional biscuits, and leavened products from the local farming tradition.

Open wineries, workshops, and the Garden of Taste

For two days, Cori's wineries and artisan shops open their doors to the public: from morning to afternoon, free guided tours of vineyards, cellars, and winemaking techniques are available by reservation. From late afternoon, the festivities move to the Sant'Oliva monumental complex, where the Giardino del Gusto brings together tasting stalls from local wineries and producers, accompanied by music and conviviality until evening.

Masterclasses of taste

The cultural core of the event consists of masterclasses—guided tastings led by sommeliers, restaurateurs, and local artisans. The program includes sessions dedicated to wine-cured ham, cheeses, Itrana extra virgin olive oil, leavened goods, and traditional Cori dishes like "Minestra co lo Pane Sotto" and "cellitti alla carbonara," as well as seminars on wine tourism, landscape, and biodiversity.

Culture, art, and biodiversity

Beyond wine and food, Cori Civitas Vini opens the City and Territory Museum and the village's art treasures, including the Sant'Oliva cloister, to visitors through guided tours. Evening concerts and creative workshops for children round out a program designed for all ages, blending gastronomy, historical heritage, and the landscape of the Lepini Mountains.

A landmark event for the city of wine

Established in 2025, the festival has quickly become one of the most anticipated food and wine events in the province of Latina, successfully uniting the centuries-old tradition of Cori wine with a rediscovery of the authentic flavors and biodiversity of Lazio.
