About Como Carnival

With 'Como… che allegria!', the city's official Carnival transforms the historic center of Como into a large open-air stage. Between Piazza Duomo, Cavour, Volta, and Perretta, artisanal costumes and Venetian and traditional masks parade, accompanied by street artists, itinerant shows, live music, and giant soap bubbles. Two days of celebration designed for all ages, with entertainment for children and evening parades for adults, in the heart of one of the most picturesque cities on the lake. A free Carnival that focuses on creativity and joy.

The official Carnival of the city of Como

'Como… che allegria!' is the name with which the Municipality of Como celebrates its Carnival, animating the historic center of the Larian city. For two days, the most beautiful squares — Duomo, Cavour, Volta, and Perretta — become a large, widespread stage, with distributed events involving families, children, and the curious.

Masks, costumes, and itinerant shows

The Como Carnival focuses on creativity: artisanal costumes and Venetian masks parade through the streets of the center, accompanied by music and itinerant shows. There are also street artists, acrobatic performances, and the inevitable giant soap bubbles, which enchant young and old alike.

A celebration for all ages

The program alternates moments for the little ones — face painting, live music, and costume contests — with evening parades designed for the adult audience. Among the most anticipated presences are the famous Schignano masks, an expression of the great Carnival tradition of the Como valleys. The event, organized by the Municipality of Como, is free admission.
