Six evenings of community at the Duomo of Padua's patronage, between faith, gastronomy, and solidarity
The Community Festival in the Cathedral is the parish festival of the Duomo of Padua, which every year, between May and June, enlivens the spaces of the patronage at Via dei Tadi 31 for six evenings, in the heart of the Veneto capital's historic center. It is an event that combines the spiritual dimension with the convivial and solidarity-based one, involving the nine parishes of the city's historic center.
Each evening, the kitchen offers specialties ranging from fried fish to hamburgers, from large salads to platters with cured meats from Montagnana and cheeses from Asiago: simple and genuine dishes, designed for conviviality. Alongside the dining, the schedule alternates religious moments—such as the mass for wedding anniversaries—with cultural and musical evenings, including an anticipated gospel night.
The festival is not just about food and prayer: there is also space for sport, with events linked to local sports realities like Basket Horus and Baskin Padova, and for culture, with the first Historic Center Walk that connects the Cathedral to the Basilica of Saint Anthony, passing through Santa Giustina. The proceeds from the initiatives are destined for a concrete purpose: the renovation of the gym floor on Via dei Tadi and the removal of architectural barriers. An example of how, in Padua, a parish festival can bring together community and projects of collective utility.
