The Italian Minimoto Speed Championship returns to the historic Pista Azzurra
The Pista Azzurra in Borgo Ticino, in the Province of Novara, hosts one of the stages of the Italian Minimoto Speed Championship, the nursery that has produced many two-wheel champions, including current MotoGP riders. For an entire weekend, the Piedmontese circuit transforms into a stage for young speed aces, with engines, colorful helmets, and families filling the pits and grandstands.
The sporting program brings together all the championship categories, designed to guide riders from their first steps to the most demanding competitions:
The format includes Sprint Races on Saturday afternoon and long races on Sunday morning, ensuring excitement on both days.
The Borgo Ticino stage is organized by the Mc TTN Racing Club of Novara, chaired by Alessandro De Gregori, which has been bringing a round of the Italian Championship to Piedmont for several seasons. It is not just young Italians racing at Pista Azzurra: the circuit regularly welcomes riders from Switzerland and Slovakia, a sign of the prestige achieved by this historic Novara facility, active since the sixties.
The weekend is enriched by educational activities curated by the Technical Sector of the Italian Motorcycling Federation: from a track walk with federal technicians to a briefing with the Race Director presented in a "comic book" style, designed specifically for the youngest riders. An educational framework that makes the CIV Minimoto an event suitable for the whole family, in the heart of the Municipality of Borgo Ticino and the Novara territory, in Piedmont.
The second stage of the 2026 Italian Minimoto Speed Championship brought the Pista Azzurra in Borgo Ticino to life over the weekend of May 16-17, with the season's first Sprint Races for all classes. The new OHVALE 110 category featured a high-level grid with eighteen starters. Among the protagonists, Thiago Liberati dominated the Junior A class, and Oliver Tagliati won in Open. Pilots from Switzerland and Slovakia were also at the start, confirming the international appeal of the Novara circuit.
In the preceding days, educational activities by the FMI Technical Sector: track walk with technicians Roberto Sassone and Stefano Cruciani for the Junior and OHVALE 110 classes, and a "comic book" style briefing with the Race Director for young riders.
