Every spring, the gray stone of Potenza's historic center transforms into a riot of colors and scents. It's time for City in Bloom, the flower and gardening exhibition-market that has animated Piazza Matteotti and the alleys of the ancient heart of the Lucanian capital for years. In 2026, the event celebrates its XII edition, confirming itself as a highly anticipated appointment for citizens and visitors.

An urban laboratory dedicated to nature

More than just an exhibition of plants and flowers, City in Bloom is described as an open-air urban laboratory dedicated to nature, memory, and sharing. For an entire weekend, the square and the historic center are populated by nurserymen, exhibitors, and visitors, in an atmosphere that combines the pleasure of gardening with the rediscovery of urban spaces.

A community celebration promoted by Pro Loco

The initiative is promoted by Pro Loco Potenza, in collaboration with the Municipality of Potenza, and is also distinguished by its strong social value: in recent editions, it has supported the activities of the Alessandra Bisceglia Foundation – W Ale, active in pediatric medical research and assistance. For twelve years, City in Bloom has been an act of love towards the city, capable of transforming the daily life of the center into a shared garden.
