The Ciclovia del Sole Festival
CicloFesta is the annual event that celebrates the Ciclovia del Sole, the Emilian section of the European cycle route Eurovelo 7, which crosses the plains of Modena and Bologna, connecting the territories along the disused Bologna-Verona railway line. Each year, the festival moves to one of the municipalities along the cycle path: in 2026, it was the turn of San Felice sul Panaro, in the Bassa Modenese area, in the province of Modena, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna.
A Day Entirely Dedicated to the Bicycle
For an entire Sunday, the historic center and streets of San Felice transform into a large bicycle village. The headquarters is Piazza Ettore Piva, from which cycle rallies, guided tours, and excursions to the most picturesque places in the area, such as the Bike Park and the Casa del Contadino, depart. The event is designed for all ages: younger children can enjoy creative workshops and gymkhanas, while enthusiasts can watch bike trial and freestyle exhibitions and attend talks on sustainable mobility and cycle tourism.
Sustainable Mobility and Territory
CicloFesta is not just about fun; it's also an opportunity to reflect on the future of sustainable mobility. The Domeniche Ciclabili di Pianura (Cycling Sundays of the Plains) bring groups of cyclists from the north, south, and west into the town, converging on the host municipality to culminate the festival. Food and wine stands offering local specialties, bike industry stands, photographic exhibitions, and live concerts complete a rich program designed to enhance the connection between bicycles, the landscape of the Bassa Modenese, and the communities that live there.
A Free Event for Everyone
All CicloFesta activities are free and open to everyone, from children to adults, from experienced cyclists to families looking for a day outdoors. It demonstrates how the Ciclovia del Sole has become, in just a few years, much more than an infrastructure: a true engine for social interaction, slow tourism, and territorial promotion for the municipalities in the plains between Modena and Bologna.
CicloFesta — edition 2026
The fourth edition of CicloFesta took place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in San Felice sul Panaro, celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Ciclovia del Sole. The festival began at 9:30 AM in Piazza Ettore Piva and extended throughout the historic center, with food stands open from 10 AM. The day combined sport, culture, and entertainment for all ages, concluding with the arrival of cyclists from the Domeniche Ciclabili di Pianura coming from the north, south, and west.

Morning — Piazza Ettore Piva
- 9:30 AM — Opening of CicloFesta, workshops, and free tours for all ages
- 10:00 AM — Cycle rally with the Società Ciclistica Pedale 73, starting from Piazza Ettore Piva
- 10:00 AM — Guided bike tours to Casa del Contadino and the Bike Park
- 10:00 AM — Show "Biciclino Story" by CSO La Piccola Carovana
- 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM — Workshop "GiraGirandola" to build pinwheels
- 10:30 AM — Inauguration of the photographic exhibition "Due Ruote, Cento Sguardi" (Photoclub Eyes E.F.I., Piazza Matteotti)
- 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM — Concert by the school band "Insieme" San Felice-Medolla-San Prospero, Montanari school orchestra, and C. Andreoli Music School Foundation
- 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM — Bike Trial & Freestyle exhibition with Diego Donadonibus and his team
- 12:30 PM — Arrival of cyclists from Domeniche Ciclabili di Pianura and institutional greetings

- 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM — Bike gymkhana for all ages (4 to 99 years old), with prizes, organized by Alessi Bici and Società Ciclistica San Felice
- 2:30 PM — Repeat of the show "Biciclino Story"
- 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM — Round table "Sustainable mobility and cycle tourism. Cycling around the world," with cycle tourist Claudio Piani
- 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM — Bicycle auction by Ciclofficina Popolare
- 4:00 PM — Guided tour of the historic center of San Felice with architect Davide Calanca
- 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM — Bike Trial & Freestyle exhibition with Diego Donadonibus
- 5:30 PM — Gymkhana award ceremony
- 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM — Rock concert with Rock in Progress
All day: food and wine stands with local specialties, bike industry stands, workshops, and excursions to the iconic sites of San Felice. In case of bad weather, the event was scheduled to take place at the Palaround in via Bassoli.

San Felice sul Panaro is easily reached by bicycle along the Ciclovia del Sole or by train on the Bologna-Verona line, with a stop at San Felice sul Panaro station. It is easily accessible by car from the Bassa Modenese area.
Where it Takes Place
The heart of the festival is Piazza Ettore Piva, with activities spread throughout the historic center and the town's streets. In case of bad weather, the event moves to the Palaround, in via Bassoli.
