Chickpea Festival 2025 in Cicerale

From August 11th to 14th, 2025, the village of Cicerale, in the province of Salerno, hosted a new edition of the Chickpea Festival, organized by the Pro Loco with president Giovanni Gargaro. The alleys of the historic center turned into a journey of taste and culture, with stalls set up among the stone houses.

The absolute star was the Cicerale chickpea, a Slow Food Presidium, served according to recipes passed down from generation to generation: steaming soups, lagane e ceci, fried fritters, rustic salads, and Cilento garden dishes, accompanied by local wines.

Beyond the table, the program offered concerts and folk music, folklore shows, art exhibitions, storytelling and cultural appointments, guided tours of the fields, and workshops dedicated to the cultivation of the legume, with activities designed for all ages. An edition that reaffirmed the bond between the community and the product that gives the town its name.
