The Chioggia Carnival is the carnival celebration of the lagoon city in the province of Venice, with a predominantly popular character and dedicated to children and families. Funfair, parades, and shows
The heart of the festival is the Corso del Popolo, the main street of the historic center, where the funfair is set up and shows and masked parades with musical groups take place. The city streets fill with confetti, costumes, and masks, in a joyful atmosphere that engages all ages.
The Grand Parade of Schools
The most anticipated moment is the Grand Parade of Schools, usually on Shrove Tuesday: local schools parade with their floats and masked groups, an event that has gained more and more public in recent years. There are also numerous creative workshops and parades organized by parishes in the hamlets. An authentic, free, and family-friendly carnival that showcases the popular culture of Chioggia and the Venetian lagoon area.
Chioggia Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Chioggia Carnival took place from February 20 to March 9, attracting over 4,000 attendees. The festival, dedicated to children and families, animated Corso del Popolo with the funfair, masked parades, shows, and creative workshops, culminating in the Grand Parade of Schools. The event is part of the Venice Carnival - Metropolitan City calendar.

Chioggia can be reached by car via the SS309 Romea or the A4 motorway (Padova Est exit, then SR516). The historic center is pedestrianized, with the funfair on Corso del Popolo.
