A weekend of sport, talks, and music in the heart of Cesano Maderno
In the municipality of Cesano Maderno (Province of Monza and Brianza, Lombardy), the Garden of Palazzo Arese Borromeo and the adjacent Piazza Esedra host the Sport Festival, an event that for three days focuses on movement, health, and sports associations. Over forty local associations animate the city spaces with demonstrations, open trials, and competitions in various disciplines: volleyball, basketball, athletics, cycling, martial arts, equestrian sports, and much more.
The heart of the festival is Sunday's "open-air gym," when associations invite people of all ages to try out their disciplines. There is also a climbing wall and inflatables for children, making the event a family affair. Running races, like the Corrincesano Young, bring athletes of all ages to the streets.
The Sport Festival is not just about physical activity: the program opens with a special talk that brings well-known figures from the national sports scene to Cesano Maderno, followed by evening concerts, the awards ceremony for local sports excellences, the Holy Mass for Sportspeople, and a concluding DJ set. Street food set up in Largo d'Immè accompanies the late evenings, completing an atmosphere of widespread celebration.
The true protagonist of the event is the rich fabric of sports associations in Cesano Maderno, made up of clubs, coaches, and volunteers who introduce children and young people to sports every day. The Sport Festival is their annual showcase: an opportunity to gain visibility, attract new registrations, and share the values of sport—discipline, fairness, teamwork. By transforming the Arese Borromeo Garden into a large open-air gym, the festival invites everyone to get involved and reaffirms how sports practice is a precious unifier for the community, capable of bringing together generations and neighborhoods around a common passion.
The 2026 edition of the Sport Festival takes place from June 5 to 7 at the Garden of Palazzo Arese Borromeo and in Piazza Esedra, Cesano Maderno. Three days with over 40 sports associations, demonstrations, tournaments, a climbing wall, and inflatables. Among the highlights are the opening talk "Symbols of Sport" with the 1982 World Cup champion Beppe Bergomi, the concert by the Pooh tribute band, Sunday's "open-air gym," the Holy Mass for Sportspeople, and the final DJ set. Street food in Largo d'Immè throughout the weekend.
