Edition 2025 — Tortello Cereliano Festival
The 2025 edition of the Cerrè Marabino Tortello Festival in Cerrè Marabino, a hamlet of Toano (Reggio Emilia), celebrated a special milestone: the twentieth anniversary of the 'Il Verabolino' Cultural Association, founded in 2005. The festival took place as tradition dictates on the last weekend of July, opening on Saturday from 7 PM and on Sunday for lunch and dinner.
In the marquee of the San Prospero churchyard, with a capacity of 400 seats, volunteers prepared around 5000 tortelli filled with herbs, ricotta, and Parmigiano-Reggiano, offered in four sauces: butter and sage, 'alla contadina' (with lard), with walnuts, and 'alla verabolino' (Parmigiano fondue with truffle and toasted almond flakes). The evenings were enlivened by DJ Manuel Iori on Saturday and the Nicola Marchese ballroom orchestra on Sunday, with a children's area and dance floor in the sports field. Up to 130 volunteers, young and old, kept the organisational machine running; the proceeds went to support the restoration of the village church and rectory.
