A Celtic village on the shores of Lake Idro
Celtic Days is one of the most evocative events of the summer on Lake Idro, in the province of Brescia. Parco Idrogym, in the Crone hamlet of the Municipality of Idro, transforms for four days into an authentic Celtic village, dedicated to the historical reenactment of Northern European peoples. A dive into the past that combines historical accuracy and spectacle, capable of captivating adults and children.
The heart of the event is the historical reenactments, curated by volunteers from the Confraternita del Leone (Brotherhood of the Lion): about a hundred re-enactors take turns offering visitors an immersive experience, with camps, ancient crafts, battles, and conferences. The highlight is the Battle of the Lake, the spectacular clash between local Celtic tribes and the legions of the Roman Empire, which concludes the event.
Every evening, the festival features concerts and shows with prominent guests from the folk and Celtic music scene. The market area offers unique artisan products, while the food stalls serve dishes and drinks inspired by Celtic traditions, for an authentic journey through flavors as well. The atmosphere, with music, bonfires, and reenactments, recreates the charm of a distant world.
For Idro and the entire Valle Sabbia, Celtic Days represents an event of identity that enhances the lake and its hinterland. Free entry makes it a popular and accessible event, attracting visitors from all over the province of Brescia and beyond, united by a passion for history, music, and Celtic traditions.
For summer 2026, the Celtic Days festival confirms its date at Parco Idrogym in Crone, on Lake Idro. The event, organized by the Confraternita del Leone, maintains its proven four-day structure in July, featuring historical camps, reenactments, evening concerts, a market area, and Celtic-themed food stalls. The exact dates and musical program for the 2026 edition will be published by the organizers on the official website and social media channels in the weeks preceding the event.
The detailed program for Celtic Days 2026 will be announced by the organizers closer to the event. The usual format includes four days with historical camps and reenactments curated by the Confraternita del Leone, conferences, shows, evening folk and Celtic music concerts, an artisan market area, themed food stalls, and, as a grand finale, the Battle of the Lake between Celtic tribes and Roman legions.
