About Carnival of Veronella

Between the end of January and the beginning of February, Carnival colours the hamlets of Veronella, in the Bassa Veronese region. Floats, masked groups, music, and food liven up Veronella, Miega, and San Gregorio in succession, with the traditional parade and typical dishes like bigoli with sardela. A popular festival that brings the entire community together, organized by Pro Loco Veronella.

The Carnival of the Bassa Veronese

The Carnival of Veronella, Miega and San Gregorio is the carnival celebration that enlivens the municipality of Veronella, in the province of Verona, Veneto. The event stands out for its travelling formula: the parade of floats and masked groups visits the three areas of the territory on different days: Veronella, the hamlet of Miega, and San Gregorio di Veronella.

Floats, Masks, and Good Food

Along the streets and squares, floats, dancing groups, and masks parade, accompanied by DJs and the Veronella band. The gastronomic aspect, a true hallmark of Veneto festivals, is not to be missed: in Miega, in particular, it is traditional to enjoy bigoli with sardela and sandwiches, in a festive atmosphere that involves families and children.

A Community Celebration

Organized by Pro Loco Veronella APS in collaboration with local associations, the Carnival celebrates traditions, good food, and community warmth. It is one of the most cherished events of the Veronese winter, capable of uniting young and old around the popular joy of carnival.
