About Carnival of the Villages

The Carnevale dei Paesi is the masked festival that every winter enlivens Padiglione, a hamlet of Tavullia, in the hinterland of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino. Organized by the Pro Loco Fogliense, it brings together the communities of Rio Salso, Case Bernardi, Padiglione, and Belvedere Fogliense in an afternoon of music, games, and fun for all ages. The heart of the day is Piazza Marconi, where the traditional candy toss, eagerly awaited by the little ones, is never missing. Free admission and an authentic village atmosphere.

The Carnival of the Villages in Padiglione

The Carnival of the Villages is the masked festival that every winter colors Padiglione, a hamlet in the Municipality of Tavullia, in the heart of the hinterland of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region. It is not the classic city carnival with large floats, but a genuine and participatory village event, designed primarily for families and children.

A festival that unites the hamlets

The distinctive feature of this Carnival is its community spirit: the event is promoted by the Pro Loco Fogliense and brings together the realities of Rio Salso, Case Bernardi, Padiglione, and Belvedere Fogliense, the hamlets that revolve around the Foglia valley. The event is supported by the UNPLI โ€“ Provincial Committee of Pesaro and Urbino and the collaboration of the parishes of San Donato and Corpus Domini, with the patronage and participation of the Municipality of Tavullia.

What to expect

The beating heart of the festival is Piazza Marconi, reached after the gathering that kicks off the afternoon. Amidst masks, music, and colors, the program includes:

  • entertainment and games for children and young people;
  • music and entertainment moments for all ages;
  • the traditional candy toss, the most anticipated event for the little ones;
  • the masked parade through the village streets.

The Pro Loco also invites participants to bring some sweets to share, in a true spirit of collective celebration.

Carnival in Tavullia

The Carnevale dei Paesi is just one of the two events that characterize the carnival period in the Tavullia area: a few weeks later, it's the turn of Tavullia in Maschera, organized by the Pro Loco of Tavullia in the main town. Together, these two events demonstrate how much the carnival tradition is still alive and felt in this corner of the Marche, where the festival remains a moment of meeting between generations and between neighboring villages.
