The Carnival of Sesto San Giovanni
Carnival in the Square is the traditional Carnival celebration of Sesto San Giovanni, a city in the province of Milan. Organized by the Pro Loco, it features a grand parade of masks that starts from the Rondinella district and crosses the city center, concluding in Piazza Oldrini with a party open to all.
Parade, Flag-Wavers, and Dancing
Opening the procession are the Alba Flag-Wavers, who entertain with their evolutions along the route. Once they arrive in Piazza Oldrini, the party gets into full swing with music and dancing: the Brazilian dance troupe Mistura Latina, baby dance for the little ones, and new performances by the flag-wavers liven up the afternoon in a vibrant and colorful atmosphere.
Masks and Prizes
The heart of the Carnival tradition is the mask competition: a jury awards prizes for the most beautiful, most original, and most ecological costumes, for both individuals and groups. An opportunity to unleash creativity and involve children and families in a celebration that, every year, brings the color and joy of Carnival back to the squares of Sesto San Giovanni.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Carnival in the Square colored Sesto San Giovanni. The parade, opened by the Alba Flag-Wavers, started at 3:00 PM from Piazza Santa Maria Ausiliatrice and reached Piazza Oldrini, where the party took place with music, dancing, and awards.

Saturday, February 21
- 3:00 PM — Start of the parade from Piazza Santa Maria Ausiliatrice (Rondinella), with the Alba Flag-Wavers, along via Picardi, viale Casiraghi, and via Rovani to Piazza Oldrini
- In Piazza Oldrini: music and dancing with the Brazilian dance troupe Mistura Latina, baby dance, and new performances by the Alba Flag-Wavers
- 5:30 PM — Awards ceremony for the most beautiful, original, and ecological masks, for individuals and groups
Mask competition registration from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Casa delle Associazioni in Piazza Oldrini.
