Carne alla Turca Festival

The 2025 Carne alla Turca Festival took place on August 3 and 4, 2025, in the historic center of Surano (LE), enlivening the streets and squares of the town for two evenings. The absolute star was carne alla turca, the spicy stew that is the symbol of the Salento village, served at the stands along with other traditional local dishes.

The evenings were enlivened by Salento folk music, with pizzica and taranta concerts that kept the audience dancing until late at night. The organization, managed by the Amici della Carne alla Turca association, reaffirmed the spirit of the event: to relaunch the celebration, animate the historic center for residents and tourists, and donate part of the proceeds to charity initiatives.
