Walking through the cherry orchards of Marostica

The Camminata delle Ciliegie e dei Piccoli Frutti is the non-competitive walk that takes place in Crosara di Marostica, a hamlet in the province of Vicenza. It is an integral part of the historic Festa della Ciliegia di Marostica IGP (Marostica IGP Cherry Festival), one of the most characteristic events in the area, dedicated to the famous red fruit that has made the city of chess famous.

Five routes through nature and taste

The walk offers five circular routes of 4, 8, 9, 13.5, and 20 km, winding through the cherry orchards and hills of Marostica. Along the routes, there are refreshment points with direct sales of local agricultural and artisanal products, allowing you to savor the authenticity of the territory while walking. The start is from Piazza San Bortolo, in Crosara.

The Marostica IGP Cherry

The star product is the Marostica IGP cherry, a variety linked to local history since 1454, when – according to tradition – cherry trees were planted to commemorate the famous Chess Game. Today, it represents a European-recognized excellence and the heart of the Cherry Festival.

An event of the Crosara community

Organized by the Crosara Working Group, the walk is an eagerly awaited event in the early June calendar. It combines the passion for walking with the discovery of the Marostica agricultural landscape, in a festive moment that involves the entire community of the hamlet.
