The widespread festival of the Ceramic Cities in Deruta
Buongiorno Ceramica! is the event promoted by AiCC - Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica (Italian Association of Ceramic Cities) which, on the same weekend, involves 60 Italian municipalities with a ceramic vocation. For two days, workshops, museums, squares, and shops open to the public with over 500 events: live demonstrations, exhibitions, installations, guided tours, performances, conferences, and food and wine tastings.
Deruta, in the province of Perugia, is one of the most famous ceramic centers in Italy, known worldwide for its majolica. During Buongiorno Ceramica!, the historic center becomes a widespread itinerary: from Saturday afternoon, the ceramic workshops open exceptionally, while the Regional Museum of Ceramics offers dedicated visits and exhibitions. Master ceramists demonstrate the working phases live, from the potter's wheel to hand decoration.
The festival is the ideal opportunity to discover the ceramic identity of Deruta and Umbria: among shops, kilns, and museum collections, visitors come into direct contact with an art passed down for centuries and still alive in the hands of local artisans.
The XII edition of Buongiorno Ceramica! was held on May 23 and 24, 2026 in 60 Italian ceramic municipalities, including Deruta. The widespread festival offered workshops for adults and children, exhibitions, installations, guided tours, and performances, for a total of over 500 events over the two days. In Deruta, the historic center came alive starting from 4:30 PM on Saturday, May 23, with the extraordinary opening of ceramic workshops and the exhibition «Francesco» at the Regional Museum of Ceramics.
