About Buongiorno Ceramica! Albissola Marina

Buongiorno Ceramica! lights up the Italian ceramic cities every spring, and Albissola Marina — famous for its blue monochrome majolica — is one of the protagonists. In 2026, on the theme of Water, the Ligurian town hosts exhibitions, wheel throwing workshops, and over a hundred artists between the Circolo degli Artisti and the historic Pozzo Garitta, the artistic heart of the town. A weekend in May to experience up close a ceramic tradition that dates back to the 15th century.

Albissola, the city of blue majolica

Albissola Marina (Province of Savona) preserves one of the oldest and most prestigious ceramic traditions in Italy, famous since the late 15th century for its blue monochrome majolica. Every spring, the town participates in Buongiorno Ceramica!, the national distributed festival promoted by AiCC (Italian Association of Ceramic Cities), which in 2026 reaches its twelfth national edition.

The theme of Water and the hundred artists

For 2026, the guiding theme is Water. Over a hundred artists exhibit their ceramics between the Circolo degli Artisti and the historic Pozzo Garitta, the symbolic small square of the artists' village. Among the initiatives are the exhibition "Equilibri nel vento" (Equilibria in the Wind), the group exhibition "Le 4 Stagioni" (The 4 Seasons) curated by Giovanna Crescini, and the wheel throwing workshops "TorniAmo Insieme" (Let's Throw Together), which allow the public to get their hands on clay.

The artists' village

Albissola Marina has always been a place of artistic experimentation: great names of 20th-century art have worked here, attracted by the kilns and the atmosphere of the town. Buongiorno Ceramica! is an opportunity to rediscover this heritage, within the "Baia della Ceramica" (Ceramics Bay) which unites Albissola Marina, Albisola Superiore, Savona, and Celle Ligure in one of the most important ceramic districts in the country.
