Three days of culture, sustainability, and landscape along the Adda River
In Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda, a village of few souls in the province of Lodi, where the Adda flows into the Po, a festival is born that makes slowness a value and the landscape a protagonist. BorghilentiFestival is an event dedicated to cultural regeneration, sustainability, and the relationship between communities and their territories. For three days, the village and surrounding countryside come alive with concerts, excursions, guided tours, talks, theatre performances, street art, photographic exhibitions, and workshops, all with free admission.
The festival's strength lies in its widespread nature: events unfold between Piazza Garibaldi, historic churches, the library, the riverbanks, and the floodplain trails. Excursions and guided tours take the public to discover a river landscape often overlooked, while talks and meetings address issues of land care, the environment, and soil consumption with scholars, journalists, and activists. Creative workshops and a Children's Area with activities and animated readings are planned for families.
In 2026, BorghilentiFestival reaches its third edition and, through the Borghilenti+ project, extends its programming for the first time to the nearby village of Meleti, reinforcing the idea of a network of small centers united by a shared vision for the future. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda and coordinated by "Palestra BorghilentiFestival", a citizen working group that actively involves residents.
The musical program is the highlight of the event. The third edition brings artists like Vinicio Capossela, Giovanni Caccamo, Raiz, and the Banda Rulli Frulli to Lombardy, capable of attracting an audience far beyond the Lodi area and demonstrating how even the smallest villages can become prominent cultural venues.
The 2026 edition, the third, confirms the festival's vocation: three days dedicated to cultural regeneration, sustainability, and landscape, with a widespread program between Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda and the village of Meleti.
On the Piazza Garibaldi stage, major names in author music alternate, while the territory hosts excursions, talks, photographic exhibitions, and workshops for all ages. Admission to all events is free.
From Friday, May 29th to Sunday, May 31st, 2026 (third edition).
