The '80s and '90s festival at Lido di Fano
The Boomerang Rewind Festival is a major summer event that every June transforms the Lido di Fano, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, into a journey through time dedicated to the '80s and '90s. Founded in 2022, it is considered the first festival in Italy entirely built around the pop culture of those two decades: music, television, cinema, fashion, comics, and video games come alive along the beach and through the streets of the historic center, engaging those who lived through those years and those discovering them for the first time.
The festival's formula is impressive: two stages, over 300 artists involved throughout the event, and fourteen permanent installations spread along the seafront. Between live concerts, DJ sets, meetings with entertainment personalities, cosplay competitions, a voice acting area, a vinyl market, arcade games, a themed Luna Park, and street food, the audience moves within a single grand '80s and '90s set. Each edition attracts around 50,000 visitors, numbers that have made the event one of the most attended of the Marche summer.
The event is organized by OnStage Produzioni, a local Fano company, and is part of the rich summer calendar of the Municipality of Fano. The city, one of the most important on the Adriatic coast of the Marche, combines the charm of its Roman and Malatestian historic center with the pop energy of the festival, offering visitors an experience that blends memory, fun, and the identity of a territory.
The 2026 edition of the Boomerang Rewind Festival, the fifth of the event, takes place from June 18 to 21, 2026. The big new feature is the opening evening which, for the first time, moves up to the Corte Malatestiana in the historic center, before the festival returns to its usual location at the Lido di Fano for the following three days.
The formula with two stages, dozens of guests, and themed installations along the seafront is confirmed, with concerts, DJ sets, vintage vehicle rallies, a vinyl market, '80s vintage games, and themed street food.
The detailed daily program with all artists and schedules will be updated on the festival's official website.
Fano is easily reachable by car via the A14 motorway (Fano exit) and by train thanks to the railway station on the Bologna-Lecce Adriatic line. The nearest airport is Ancona-Falconara, about 50 km away.
The heart of the festival is the Lido di Fano, on the seafront, with the opening event hosted at the Corte Malatestiana, in Piazza XX Settembre, in the historic center.
Access to the festival areas on the seafront is traditionally free; for updated schedules and any events requiring booking, consult the official website.
As this is a very popular summer event, it is advisable to book accommodation in Fano or nearby locations in advance and arrive in the city with plenty of time to spare, especially on the evenings of the main concerts.
