The Ponterosso neighborhood festival of sea flavors, music, and community
The Bombetto Festival is one of the most beloved neighborhood festivals in Ancona, the capital of the Marche region. It takes place in the Ponterosso district, at the Multifunctional Area of the Sacred Heart Parish, on Via Giacomo e Sergio Russi. For almost thirty years, the event has transformed the early June evenings into a great meeting point for residents and visitors, amidst culinary aromas, outdoor stands, and plenty of music.
The absolute star of the festival is the bombetto, a small spiral-shelled marine mollusk, similar to a tiny snail, typical of Ancona's seafaring tradition. Cooked according to local recipes and served hot, the bombetto is enjoyed slowly, accompanied by bread, and has always been one of the most distinctive flavors of Marche's Adriatic cuisine. At the food stands, alongside the signature dish, you'll find sandwiches, fried specialties, and local traditional dishes.
The Bombetto Festival is more than just food. Throughout the four days, three stages feature concerts, DJ sets, karaoke, and performances: among the artists announced for the 2026 edition are the Anonymous Band, Roberto Cardinali, Lucia Fraboni, Rana, I Miuri, and Kurnalcool, who will headline the closing night. The musical program is complemented by dance shows, sports performances, a photographic exhibition titled "The Earth Sings its Creator," and discussion events like the talk "Saint Francis between the Capital of Culture and Conero Park.".
Great attention is paid to the little ones: the Enchanted Forest, street games, and entertainment make the festival an event suitable for all ages. The atmosphere is that of a village festival, welcoming and family-friendly, where the neighborhood comes together and opens its doors to the entire city.
Organized by the Sacred Heart Parish Community of Ponterosso, the Bombetto Festival has grown year by year to become a symbol of neighborhood identity. The 2026 edition also fits into the broader context of the Conero Park Festival, strengthening the bond between the district, the city of Ancona, and its extraordinary natural and marine heritage.
The 2026 edition of the Bombetto Festival kicks off on Thursday, June 4th, with a preview starting at 6:00 PM and continues on Friday, June 5th, Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th, until late at night, at the Multifunctional Area of the Sacred Heart Parish in Ponterosso, Ancona.
Three stages host concerts, DJ sets, karaoke, and shows, with over twenty events scheduled. On the culinary front, the stands offer the traditional bombetto and specialties of Ancona's cuisine.
Among the announced artists: Anonymous Band, Roberto Cardinali, Lucia Fraboni, Rana, I Miuri, and Kurnalcool for the closing night.
