Carnival parade and celebrations in the heart of Besnate
The Besnate Carnival is the event that every year brings masks, floats, and confetti through the streets of Besnate, a municipality in the Province of Varese located between the plain and the first hills of Varesotto, near the Ticino Park. The festival is organized by Pro Loco Besnate, a very active entity in the social life of the town.
The heart of the event is the masked parade, accompanied by traditional Carnival celebrations. The chosen date is Shrove Tuesday, the highlight of the Carnival period, which in Besnate becomes an occasion for celebration for the entire community, with particular attention to children and families.
Included in the rich calendar of initiatives by Pro Loco Besnate — which throughout the year also offers the Painting Competition and the patronal feast of San Martino — the Besnate Carnival is an anticipated moment that renews the town's spirit and the Lombard Carnival tradition.
The 2026 edition, scheduled for February 17 for Shrove Tuesday, features the traditional masked parade and Carnival celebrations through the streets of Besnate. The event, curated by Pro Loco Besnate, is designed to involve families and children in a day of color and joy.
The detailed program with times and route will be released by Pro Loco Besnate in the weeks prior.
