About Bertù Festival

On the evening of San Lorenzo, in Rovetta, Via Fantoni transforms into an open-air restaurant to celebrate a traditional dish: bertù, the typical ravioli filled with Bergamo cotechino. Amidst cured meats, local cheeses, folk music, and accordion, the Sagra dei Bertù di San Lorenzo is one of the most authentic gastronomic festivals in Val Seriana, in the province of Bergamo. Organized by the Pro Loco of Rovetta.

Bertù, a dish to discover

In Rovetta, a municipality in Val Seriana in the province of Bergamo, there is a dish that tells centuries of peasant cuisine: bertù, typical ravioli with a savory filling of Bergamo cotechino. They are the specialty that gives its name to the San Lorenzo festival, the gastronomic event that every year, on August 16th, enlivens the town center.

Via Fantoni as a grand table

For one evening, Via Fantoni transforms into an open-air restaurant. The markets open at 6 PM, while at 7 PM the kitchens fire up: in addition to bertù, cured meats and local cheeses arrive at the table, in a journey of flavors that tells the story of the Bergamo mountains. It's the classic village festival formula, where good food is enjoyed sitting outdoors, in company.

Folk and accordion

Accompanying the evening is music: the folk group Donne dell'Era and the accordion of Germano Melotti set the rhythm for the feast, bringing back the sounds of popular tradition. It's the right atmosphere for a festival that focuses on conviviality and the identity of a mountain village.

A festival signed Pro Loco

The Sagra dei Bertù di San Lorenzo is organized by the Pro Loco of Rovetta, guardian of the town's gastronomic traditions. For visitors to Val Seriana in the summer, it is a precious opportunity to taste an authentic dish and experience a true community celebration, in the heart of the province of Bergamo.
