Bergamo Booksellers Fair

A tradition spanning over sixty years

Established in 1959, the Bergamo Booksellers Fair is the oldest book event in Italy. Every spring, the historic Sentierone, the elegant promenade in Bergamo Bassa's Centro Piacentiniano, transforms into an immense open-air bookstore, with pavilions extending over a thousand square meters of exhibition space. Promoted by Confesercenti Bergamo, the fair is an unmissable event for readers throughout Lombardy.

A plural program

The 67th edition features over 130 events, designed under the banner of a plural and inclusive offering. Alongside dialogues with authors, there are performances, concerts, readings, and workshops, in a schedule that intertwines literature, current affairs, music, and civic engagement. The musical review for the 2026 edition complements meetings and presentations with entertainment moments.

The guests

The lineup for the 67th edition brings together some of the most well-known names in the Italian cultural and journalistic scene: among the announced guests are Mario Calabresi, former minister Marta Cartabia, Lella Costa, Nando Dalla Chiesa, Marco Damilano, Giovanni Floris, Anna Foa, Luciano Fontana, Gad Lerner, Telmo Pievani, and Walter Veltroni.
