A Community Festival in the Heart of Val Nure
The Bell Tower Festival is one of the most cherished village festivals in the Municipality of San Giorgio Piacentino, in the province of Piacenza, in the Val Nure region of Emilia-Romagna. Organized by the Parish of San Giorgio, the event was created as a moment of community gathering and an opportunity to support parish activities: the name itself refers to the church's bell tower, a symbol of the village around which the festival revolves.
Four Evenings of Taste and Tradition
The heart of the festival is the parish sports field, which for four consecutive evenings transforms into a large outdoor gathering place. Every evening, starting at 7 PM, the food stalls open, offering dishes from Piacenza cuisine and wines from the Colli Piacentini hills. Among the most popular specialties is the fried cake with cured meats, accompanied by local typical products; in past editions, the festival has also offered options for those with dietary restrictions, including a menu for celiacs.
Music, Dancing, and Fun for Everyone
After dinner, the festival continues with live music and dancing: from 9:15 PM, orchestras liven up the dance floor on the parquet, in the true spirit of Emilia-Romagna ballroom dancing, while on dedicated evenings, performances by local dance schools are held. For children and teenagers, inflatable games are set up every evening, making the event suitable for the whole family.
A Tradition That Renews Itself
Entering its 13th edition in 2026, the Bell Tower Festival is now a regular fixture on the summer calendar of San Giorgio Piacentino. Admission is free, and the festival represents a simple and authentic opportunity to experience the conviviality of the villages in the Piacenza plain, with good food, popular music, and the carefree atmosphere of June festivals.
Bell Tower Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Bell Tower Festival, the thirteenth, will take place from June 5 to 8, 2026, at the parish sports field in San Giorgio Piacentino (PC). The traditional format is confirmed: every evening from 7 PM, food stalls will open with dishes from Piacenza cuisine and wines from the Colli Piacentini hills, while from 9:15 PM, there will be live music and dancing on the parquet floor. For the little ones, inflatable games are planned every evening. Admission is free.
The detailed program for each evening, including orchestras and dance school performances, will be announced by the parish in the weeks preceding the event.

- From 7 PM — opening of food stalls with Piacenza specialties (fried cake with cured meats, first courses, desserts) and wines from the Colli Piacentini

By car from Piacenza, San Giorgio Piacentino can be reached in about 15 minutes by taking the provincial road towards Val Nure. The nearest train station is Piacenza, on the Milan-Bologna line, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
