Bavarian-style evenings featuring beer, local Cilento products, and live music
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Beer Festival in Ogliastro Cilento, a small hillside town in the province of Salerno, Campania, is one of the most anticipated summer events. Rather than a large-scale fair, this is a community celebration organized by the Comitato Festa Ogliastro Cilento: for a few nights, the town center turns into a little corner of Bavaria, with taps flowing, long communal tables, and a purposefully informal atmosphere.
The main attraction is, of course, the beer, served in various styles alongside local products. Cilento is a land of the Mediterranean diet—recognized as an intangible UNESCO heritage—and even at a festival with a Nordic twist, the cuisine remains firmly local. This fusion is not forced; it is simply part of the fun.
Alongside the food stalls, you will find game stands and entertainment designed to cater to different audiences: families with children in the early evening, and younger crowds at night when the music takes over. It is the classic model of a Cilento village festival, where the square becomes a dance floor and the program changes every night.
The festival usually takes place in the heart of summer. The 2025 edition was held from July 4th to 6th, during the first weekend of the month, though some Cilento calendars have also noted the event in early August. Dates are not fixed from year to year and are announced by the Festival Committee shortly before the event, usually via social media.
Ogliastro Cilento has just over two thousand inhabitants and is spread between the main town and the hamlets of Eredita and Finocchito. It is located a few kilometers from the coast of Agropoli and the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, making the festival a convenient stop for those vacationing on the coast. Visitors from outside the region discover a different side of Cilento: the inland villages, small squares, and self-managed festivals, where hospitality is not a service but a way of life.
The organization is handled by the Comitato Festa Ogliastro Cilento, the association that manages the town's main festivities. The committee publishes programs, schedules, and updates on its Facebook and Instagram pages; this remains the most reliable source to check if and when the current year's edition will take place, as the calendar is not set far in advance.
The 2026 Beer Festival in Ogliastro Cilento is not currently confirmed by official sources. Checks conducted on the main Cilento festival calendars for summer 2026 did not return any entry for the Salerno town, and even the municipal website does not list the event among the scheduled festivities.
This does not necessarily mean the festival will not take place: in small Cilento towns, programs are often published just a few weeks in advance, directly on the organizing committees' social media pages. The reference remains the Comitato Festa Ogliastro Cilento, which in previous years has announced dates, times, and programs on Facebook and Instagram.
The date indicated in this entry is therefore purely indicative and is based on the usual period of the event, namely the beginning of July. It will be updated as soon as the committee releases the official calendar for the 2026 edition.
By car: from the A2 del Mediterraneo motorway, take the Battipaglia exit and continue on the SS18 towards Agropoli until the junction for Ogliastro Cilento. By train: the nearest station is Agropoli-Castellabate, on the Tyrrhenian line, about 10 km away; from there, continue by taxi or local bus. The nearest airport is Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi.
As with most village festivals in Cilento, access to the festival area is free, and you only pay for what you consume at the stalls. For updated prices on beer and food, it is best to check the social media channels of the Comitato Festa Ogliastro Cilento.
Ogliastro Cilento offers agritourisms and bed and breakfasts; for a wider selection, you can stay in Agropoli, Castellabate, or Paestum, all less than a half-hour drive away.
Cilento summer evenings can get chilly after midnight: it is best to bring a light sweatshirt. Parking in town is limited; it is advisable to arrive a little early and leave your car along the access roads.
