Italy's oldest triathlon, on the Olympic distance in the waters of Garda
The Bardolino International Triathlon is a historic event for Italian triathlon: founded in 1984, it is the oldest race of the discipline in the country. It takes place every year in June in Bardolino (province of Verona, Veneto), based at Lido Cornicello on the shores of Lake Garda.
The competition is held over the classic Olympic distance: 1.5 km swimming in the waters of Garda, 40 km cycling, and 10 km running. The start is from Lido Cornicello, with the finish in the adjacent Parco di Villa Carrara Bottagisio. Athletes start in heats divided by F.I.TRI. national ranking.
The race attracts over 1,500 athletes from about twenty nations each year, followed by more than 5,000 spectators along the course. Organized by the Triathlon Club Bardolino, the event is one of the most important sporting showcases on the Veronese side of Lake Garda.
The 41st edition of the Bardolino International Triathlon will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, over the classic Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming + 40 km cycling + 10 km running). The first heat starts at 12:30 PM from Lido Cornicello, with the finish at the Parco di Villa Carrara Bottagisio. Over 1,500 athletes from 24 nations and more than 5,000 spectators are expected.
Bardolino can be reached by car from the A4 motorway (Affi or Peschiera del Garda exits) and by train with a bus connection from the Peschiera del Garda or Verona Porta Nuova stations.
Registration is done online on the official website. The race kit (bib, bike numbers, timing chip, transition area bracelet) can be collected at the Sports Centre in Via XX Settembre in the preceding days.
