Agazzano's Spring Festival

The Ascension Fair is one of the most cherished traditional events in Agazzano, the village known as the "parlour town" of Val Luretta, in the southeastern part of the province of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna. Linked to the religious observance of the Ascension, the fair enlivens the squares and streets of the historic centre every spring, transforming the town overlooking the Luretta stream into a large festival space for the entire day.

A Day of Markets, Tradition, and Fun

The heart of the fair is the large market that invades the town centre: stalls, creative hobbyists, and artisans display their goods along the streets, alongside stands dedicated to selling local typical products. Alongside commerce, there are exhibitions that attract enthusiasts from all over the region, with the display of vintage cars and motorcycles — including historic Vespas — which has been one of the most photographed attractions of the event for years.

The fair has a strong family focus: the large funfair area and activities designed for children accompany the younger audience throughout the day, while the squares host live demonstrations and performances, including sports and kickboxing shows.

Music, Band, and Majorettes

The most anticipated and distinctive moment remains the concert by the Carlo Vignola Band, a historic local musical ensemble, which performs in the afternoon accompanied by the choreographies of the majorettes group. It is the hallmark of a village festival that keeps alive the community spirit and popular tradition of Val Luretta.

An Event Rooted in the Territory

Now in its twenty-second edition in 2026, the Ascension Fair is a well-established event in the spring calendar of the Municipality of Agazzano and the entire valley. The event is often preceded by the "Dreaming Party", an evening of music and fun that serves as a prelude to the great day of the fair. An ideal opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Piacenza Apennines, with its castles, hills, and local gastronomy.
