A weekend of ancient flavours among courtyards and vineyards
In Caprino Bergamasco, a small municipality in the Valle San Martino, Province of Bergamo, there is a spring weekend when the usually closed doors of historic courtyards swing open. It's Arti, Corti e Vigne, a widespread event that invites you to get lost among hallways, arcades, and flowery gardens, places you normally can't enter. The common thread is that of ancient flavours and old trades, presented as a journey into the village's memory.
Wine is one of the protagonists: wine tastings accompany the stroll through the courtyards, enhancing the winemaking tradition of the Bergamo area. Alongside the glass, you'll encounter ancient trades brought back to life – the puppeteer, the shoemaker, the carpenter – in demonstrations that showcase the artisan knowledge of the past. Completing the picture are stalls from the vintage market, street food, and a series of concerts and performances scattered throughout the streets.
The festival is an opportunity to discover Caprino's cultural sites: during the weekend, guided tours of the Luigi Torri Civic Museum and the Mandamentale Library are scheduled, which preserve the historical and documentary memory of the area. It's the best way to link the festive dimension with that of knowledge, in an event that appeals to both food lovers and the curious.
With its relaxed pace, outdoor offerings, and shows suitable for all ages, Arti, Corti e Vigne is also designed for families. It's the ideal festival to spend a different day in the Bergamasca region, away from mass tourism, letting yourself be guided by the discovery of a village and its hidden treasures.
