The village fair
The Antica Fiera di Sommacampagna is the most anticipated village festival of the year for the community of Sommacampagna (Verona), in the hilly hinterland south of Lake Garda. For five days at the end of August, the town squares — Piazza Castello, Piazza Roma, Piazza della Repubblica — come alive with events for all tastes and ages.
Between funfair, music, and flavours
The festival offers a funfair, concerts, shows, food and wine stands from the Comitato Sommaviva, sports tournaments (bowls, cycling), traditional and Latin-American dance evenings, and exhibitions set up at Villa Venier and the church of San Rocco. By tradition, the opening is entrusted to the evocative concert of the bells. There are also guided walks, bike rides, and horse rides to discover the area.
