About Ancona in Bloom

Ancona in Bloom is the floral and nursery trade fair that transforms Piazza Pertini, in the heart of the Marche capital, into a large open-air garden every spring. For an entire weekend, nursery owners, florists, and artisans from various regions exhibit flowers, plants, natural essences, and nature-inspired creations. Featuring common varieties and rarer species, solutions for terraces and balconies, free bonsai demonstrations, and plenty of ideas for your green spaces, it's the ideal event for gardening enthusiasts and anyone wanting to soak up the spring atmosphere in the city. Free admission.

When Spring Blooms in Piazza Pertini

In Ancona, the capital of the Marche Region, the arrival of warmer weather is celebrated with Ancona in Bloom, the floral and nursery trade fair that colors Piazza Sandro Pertini with scents, petals, and leaves. For a weekend, the square, one of the busiest in the city center, transforms into a true open-air garden: stands from nursery owners and florists are set up alongside those of artisans, creating a walk among colors and fragrances that officially heralds spring in the Municipality of Ancona.

What You'll Find

The absolute stars are flowers and plants: from the most common varieties to lesser-known species, including solutions designed for terraces, balconies, and small home spaces. Alongside the floral exhibitors, you'll find nature-inspired artisan creations, essences and natural products, and floral-themed accessories and decorations. It's an opportunity to gather plenty of ideas for your garden and home greenery, and also to discover unique plants from those who cultivate them with passion.

  • Nurseries and florists with seasonal, perennial, aromatic, and house plants
  • Exhibitors from various Italian regions
  • Artistic crafts and natural botanical-themed products
  • Solutions for terraces, balconies, and small urban spaces

Bonsai Demonstrations

Among the most appreciated side activities are the free demonstrations dedicated to the art of bonsai, allowing close observation of the techniques and gestures of an ancient and fascinating tradition. This is a moment designed for both the curious and enthusiasts who want to learn the secrets of caring for these miniature plants.

A Celebration for the City

With free admission and a very central location, Ancona in Bloom is an event suitable for everyone: families, green thumbs, and casual passersby who want to enjoy a fragrant stroll in the heart of the 'doric' capital. The event, organized by Ape & Co. with the patronage of the Municipality of Ancona, is part of the rich calendar of trade fairs that animate the city throughout the year and contributes to enhancing the public spaces of the historic center with a green focus.
