Spring arrives in the heart of Ancona, with flowers, plants, and botanical crafts
In Ancona, the capital of the Marche Region, the arrival of warmer weather is celebrated with Ancona in Bloom, the floral and nursery trade fair that colors Piazza Sandro Pertini with scents, petals, and leaves. For a weekend, the square, one of the busiest in the city center, transforms into a true open-air garden: stands from nursery owners and florists are set up alongside those of artisans, creating a walk among colors and fragrances that officially heralds spring in the Municipality of Ancona.
The absolute stars are flowers and plants: from the most common varieties to lesser-known species, including solutions designed for terraces, balconies, and small home spaces. Alongside the floral exhibitors, you'll find nature-inspired artisan creations, essences and natural products, and floral-themed accessories and decorations. It's an opportunity to gather plenty of ideas for your garden and home greenery, and also to discover unique plants from those who cultivate them with passion.
Among the most appreciated side activities are the free demonstrations dedicated to the art of bonsai, allowing close observation of the techniques and gestures of an ancient and fascinating tradition. This is a moment designed for both the curious and enthusiasts who want to learn the secrets of caring for these miniature plants.
With free admission and a very central location, Ancona in Bloom is an event suitable for everyone: families, green thumbs, and casual passersby who want to enjoy a fragrant stroll in the heart of the 'doric' capital. The event, organized by Ape & Co. with the patronage of the Municipality of Ancona, is part of the rich calendar of trade fairs that animate the city throughout the year and contributes to enhancing the public spaces of the historic center with a green focus.
From April 10th to 12th, 2026, Piazza Pertini in Ancona transformed into an open-air garden for the spring edition of Ancona in Bloom. Along the square, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, stands from nursery owners and florists offered flowers, seasonal plants, rare varieties, and solutions for terraces and balconies, alongside artisans with botanical-themed creations and products. There was also space for free bonsai demonstrations, scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, April 11th, and Sunday, April 12th, to discover the techniques and gestures of this ancient art up close. Free admission for all.
