Ancient Saint Bartholomew's Fair

A fair with over two centuries of history

The Ancient Saint Bartholomew's Fair is the most anticipated summer event in Battaglia Terme, a spa town in the Euganean Hills in the province of Padua. Its origins date back to 1817, when the community began to celebrate the patron saint with a market fair: since then, the event has been repeated year after year, surpassing two hundred editions, a record that makes it one of the longest-running historic fairs in the Veneto.

Ten days of celebration between the park and the historic center

The fair takes place over several evenings distributed between mid and late August, animating the INPS Park, Piazza della Libertà, Piazza Aldo Moro, Via Terme, and the streets of the town center. The program alternates street food and food stalls, live music, DJ sets, activities and games for children and families, a market and stalls, an exhibition of vintage and sports cars, a funfair, bingo, and the characteristic low-noise fireworks.

Flavors and village atmosphere

Throughout the evenings, there are food trucks, Latin American cuisine offerings, dancing evenings, and moments dedicated to the little ones, from animated readings to trekking with alpacas. It is the festival that tells the soul of Battaglia Terme, a town of 'barcari' (boatmen) nestled along the canal, where river tradition and popular conviviality meet in the heart of the Euganean Hills.
