Evening walk through the Valluretta hills that kicks off the Piozzano Craft Beer Festival
The Alcoholic Badger Walk is now an anticipated event in Piozzano, a small municipality in the Province of Piacenza nestled in the gentle hills of Valluretta, in Emilia-Romagna. Organized by the Pro Loco Piozzano, the event opens the town's historic Craft Beer Festival in the most convivial way possible: an evening walk of about 7 kilometers winding along the panoramic paths and roads of the municipal territory, touching some charming hamlets like Pomaro.
Behind the ironic name lies one of the most charming events of the Piozzano summer. The walk is not a competitive race but a non-competitive march, open to everyone, designed to enjoy the cool evening air, the scent of blooming broom, and the sunset colors over the hills. At the end of the route, participants reach the sports field, the heart of the Craft Beer Festival, where a selection of craft beers and gastronomic specialties prepared by the Pro Loco await them.
The initiative naturally combines three typical ingredients of Emilia festivals: outdoor movement, discovery of the Valluretta agricultural landscape, and the pleasure of dining and toasting with company. It's a perfect opportunity for families, groups of friends, and walkers who want to start the festival weekend with a light stroll before diving into the evenings of live music, food, and beer at the festival.
The Alcoholic Badger Walk takes place on the first evening of the Piozzano Craft Beer Festival, an event that for over ten editions has enlivened the town's sports field with craft breweries, food stalls, and concerts. Starting on foot from the town center and arriving directly at the heart of the festival is the most genuine way to get into the spirit of one of the most beloved summer festivals in the Piacenza hinterland.
For 2026, the Alcoholic Badger Walk returns on Friday, June 19, on the opening evening of the Piozzano Craft Beer Festival. The non-competitive walk of about 7 km crosses the hilly paths of Valluretta and concludes at the sports field, where participants are welcomed with a selection of craft beers and local Pro Loco specialties.
The walk kicks off the weekend of the Piozzano Craft Beer Festival (June 19-21, 2026), featuring craft breweries, food stalls, and live music at the sports field. Details on the menu, bands, and festival schedule will be announced in the days leading up to it on the Pro Loco's channels.
Meeting point at Piazza dei Tigli in Piozzano (PC). Registration opens at 7:30 PM, departure is scheduled for 8:00 PM. The route is about 7 km along the hilly paths and roads of Valluretta.
The participation fee is 5 euros per person and includes registration and one beer at the sports field, where craft beers and Pro Loco dishes are available at the end of the walk.
