The Collese Ferragosto festival

Among the most anticipated events of Agosto Collese, the calendar of events that enlivens Colli a Volturno (IS) throughout the month, the Sagra degli Gnocchi stands out, usually scheduled for August 14th, the eve of Ferragosto. The protagonists of the evening are the traditional gnocchi, accompanied by the famous Frittata Collese.

Taste, music, and dancing

The festival transforms the village into a large open-air dining area: the gastronomic stands of the Pro Loco offer gnocchi and frittata along with other local specialties, while the evening continues with music and group dances. The Agosto Collese program traditionally opens on August 1st with a gastronomic evening in Piazza Anfiteatro, and then continues with events that combine food, music, and markets.

A community celebration

The Sagra degli Gnocchi is promoted by the Pro Loco of Colli a Volturno in collaboration with the municipal administration and the Gruppo Alpini. It is a moment of strong conviviality that attracts residents, tourists, and the many emigrants who return to the village for the summer, in the heart of the Volturno valley, at the foot of the Mainarde mountains.
