Aggiustotutto, the Repair Café of Rome

Aggiustotutto is the first Repair Café founded in Rome: a collaborative repair workshop established in 2015 by three friends as a self-funded common good. Today, it is hosted in the LabPuzzle space, located between the Montesacro and Tufello districts in Rome's Municipio III. The idea is simple and practical: instead of discarding an item that no longer works, you try to fix it together with the help of expert volunteers and by sharing manual skills.

How the Repair Café works

The Repair Café is part of an international network of repair hubs. At Aggiustotutto, people meet every Thursday afternoon: those who bring a broken item are assisted by other participants and experienced repairers to identify the issue and try to get it running again. It is not a repair service, but a collaborative journey where you learn by doing.

Repair Day

The most anticipated moment of the year is Repair Day, a day dedicated to repair that is open to the entire city. It is a free and convivial event: people bring items to be fixed, share tools and knowledge, and often share food and drinks in a plastic-free spirit. Surrounding the repair tables are exchanges of still-functional items, workshops, and environmental awareness activities.

Reuse and the circular economy

Behind Aggiustotutto's activities lies a clear message: repairing is always better than throwing away. Every item restored to working order is one less piece of waste, particularly among the increasingly bulky electronic (WEEE) and household waste. The Repair Café thus becomes a hub for the circular economy and active citizenship, where sustainability is practiced with one's hands, not just with words.

A neighborhood hub

Rooted between Montesacro and Tufello, the association is an open, horizontal community. To access the tools and workspace, a 10-euro annual membership card is required, while public events like Repair Day remain accessible to everyone. Today, Aggiustotutto represents one of the Roman benchmarks for the culture of reuse, both in the Lazio region and within the broader Italian Repair Café movement.
