Old-fashioned games, workshops, and associations in the Adriano neighborhood
The Adriano Neighborhood Festival, titled Dove?, is a community event for the Adriano neighborhood, in the northeastern part of Milan, within Municipality 2. It takes place between Largo Bigatti and the spaces of Cascina San Paolo (via Trasimeno 41), two symbolic locations for the social life of a young area undergoing significant urban transformation.
The heart of the festival is the revival of traditional games from the past: as the organizers explain, the idea is to dust off the games played many years ago to have fun together, involving both adults and children. Alongside the games, there is space for craft workshops, with a table dedicated to those who love knitting and crochet, fostering a climate of sharing and exchange between generations.
Various local organizations participate in the festival with information stands. Casa della Carità is present with its own booth and brings its "Biblioteca del Confine" (Border Library) to Cascina San Paolo, featuring L'Eco delle Storie (The Echo of Stories), readings in various languages for children aged 3 to 8. This is a way to weave together play, reading, and multiculturalism, values that characterize a neighborhood inhabited by families from diverse backgrounds.
The event is promoted by the ViviAdriano Association, Cascina San Paolo, and Ecate Cultura, with the patronage of Municipality 2. More than just a moment of leisure, the festival serves as a showcase for the associations in the Adriano neighborhood and an opportunity to strengthen neighborly bonds in an area of Milan that has grown rapidly in recent years and is still seeking places and occasions for meeting.
