Three months of music, entertainment, sports, and culture at the foot of Mount Etna
Adrano Summer is the seasonal festival promoted by the Municipality of Adrano, a town in the province of Catania nestled on the southwestern slopes of Mount Etna, in Sicily. For three months, from June until the end of August, the festival transforms the city into a sprawling stage with a program that blends music, theater, dance, cinema, sports, and culture, designed to entertain both residents and visitors throughout the season.
The festival stands out for the richness and variety of its offerings: more than sixty events spread across June, July, and August. Alongside major concerts, the program includes theatrical performances, dance recitals, martial arts, open-air film screenings like the Cineforum, folk initiatives, and numerous activities dedicated to children and families. The Sports Festival, held over several days, involves local associations and city facilities such as the San Leo sports fields.
The beating heart of the festival is Piazza Umberto, one of Adrano's most evocative squares, capable of hosting thousands of spectators during major concerts. Events also animate the Bellini Theater, the Giardino della Vittoria โ the preferred venue for film screenings โ and the Santa Chiara spaces. The widespread distribution of events across multiple city locations strengthens the bond between the festival and the urban identity of Adrano.
The music section has always been the pride of Adrano Summer, featuring nationally renowned artists who attract audiences from across the Etna region and the province of Catania. In recent years, the square has hosted beloved performers from the Italian scene, confirming the city's role as a hub for live music during the Sicilian summer.
Resulting from planning efforts that involve local associations and operators, Adrano Summer is now a fixed appointment on the Sicilian summer calendar. Strong public participation and the tourism impact โ with significant benefits for local accommodation facilities during major events โ make it one of the most followed festivals in the Etna area.
The 2026 program kicks off on June 8th and continues until August 30th, with over sixty events spread over three months. Among the major musical highlights are the concert by Sal Da Vinci (July 29th) and the performance by rapper Fedez in Piazza Umberto (August 4th), which are among the most anticipated dates of the Etna summer.
The program alternates between concerts, theater and dance performances, martial arts, open-air film screenings, and initiatives for children and families. Notable events include the performance by the Luigi Sturzo Orchestra (June 8th), the concert by Martina Catanuto (June 14th), the guest appearance by Mattia Zenzola (June 15th), the Sports Festival (June 15-29), the Vivity and Mary Scuderi appointments in July, the Pooh tribute "Parsifal" (August 6th), and the concert by the Beans (August 9th).
Adrano is located in the province of Catania, on the southwestern slopes of Mount Etna. By car, it can be reached via the SS121 and SS284 roads; it is about 45 minutes from Catania. By train, it is served by the Ferrovia Circumetnea, which connects Catania to Randazzo. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa.
Many events on the program are free of charge; tickets may be required for some major concerts. It is recommended to check the Municipality of Adrano website and official channels for updated details.
On the days of major concerts, Adrano's accommodation facilities often sell out: it is advisable to book your stay in advance.
