Chioggia's season of prose, dance, and contemporary circus
Acqua Alta is the winter theatre season in Chioggia, in the province of Venice, which enlivens the cold months with a multidisciplinary programme. The shows are held at the Don Bosco Theatre and the San Nicolò Auditorium, and range from prose to dance, from music to contemporary circus.
The programme alternates established Italian theatre performers with experimental shows and contemporary circus, offering the people of Chioggia a rich and varied cultural experience. Over the years, the programme has featured artists such as Valerio Aprea, Maria Amelia Monti, Francesca Reggiani, and Rocío Muñoz Morales.
The season is organized by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Chioggia in collaboration with the regional circuit Arteven. Season tickets and individual tickets are managed through the Pro Loco (Viale Stazione 32/1) and the Vivaticket platform. It is one of the most established cultural events in the lagoon city.
The Acqua Alta 2025/2026 theatre season in Chioggia offers nine shows of prose, dance, music, and contemporary circus, from November 20, 2025, to March 28, 2026. The events are split between the Don Bosco Theatre and the San Nicolò Auditorium, starting at 9 PM.
The programme alternates big names from the Italian scene — Valerio Aprea, Maria Amelia Monti, Francesca Reggiani, Beatrice Schiros — with dance, music, and contemporary circus shows, culminating on March 28 with the dance illusionists RBB.
Chioggia is reachable by car via the SS309 Romea, from the A4 (Padova Est exit) or the A13. By train to Rovigo or Venice, then by bus. The shows are held at the Don Bosco Theatre and the San Nicolò Auditorium.
