The handmade fair in Vicenza
Abilmente Vicenza Primavera is one of the most beloved events for creative manual enthusiasts in Italy. At the Fiera di Vicenza, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the event brings together over 300 brands and exhibitors and about eighty selected artisans for four days, who perform live demonstrations, showcasing techniques and secrets of the trade.
Six creative worlds
The fair is organized into thematic areas covering all handmade passions: paper and color (painting, scrapbooking, stamps), sewing and yarns (knitting, crochet, patchwork), embroidery and tradition, jewelry and accessories, decoration. There are also special spaces like the Quilt Lab and the Viale delle Idee (Avenue of Ideas), designed to discover materials, new products, and meticulously crafted work tools.
Courses, workshops, and installations
The pulsating heart of the event is the creative courses and workshops: the Abilmente Academy offers lessons for all levels, from botanical printing to kokedama, from watercolor to tailoring, from pyrography to Tunisian crochet. Each edition also features large collective textile installations that involve visitors. A complete showcase for those who want to learn, be inspired, and take home new ideas to create with their own hands, in the heart of Vicenza and its province.
Abilmente Vicenza Spring — edition 2026
The Spring 2026 edition of Abilmente took place from February 19th to 22nd at the Vicenza Fair, confirming its format with over 300 exhibitors and about eighty artisans giving live demonstrations.
Among the significant new features was the Edu Lab, created in collaboration with Confartigianato Vicenza, offering training workshops for teachers focused on integrating creative crafts into education. There was also space for the large immersive installation "Homage to Artist Flowers", a garden of three-dimensional crocheted flowers and textile sculptures inspired by Yayoi Kusama's polka dot aesthetic, which grew with contributions from visitors.

- Origins — international quilt exhibition with 84 quilters from 19 nations, on the theme of birth and identity; awards ceremony Friday, February 20th at noon
- Homage to Artist Flowers — immersive installation with crocheted flowers and textile sculptures, inspired by Yayoi Kusama
- Edu Lab (with Confartigianato Vicenza) — training workshops for teachers

How to get there
The Fiera di Vicenza is located in the eastern part of the city, easily accessible by car from the A4 motorway (Vicenza Est exit) and by public transport from the Vicenza train station. Ample parking is available.
Opening hours and tickets
The event is open for four days with indicative hours from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Entrance tickets and course registrations are available on the official website abilmente.org.
