Winter Celebrations of Saint Ruggero the Bishop

The 2025 edition of the Winter Celebrations of Saint Ruggero, patron of Barletta, took place from December 27 to 31, 2025, involving parish communities, church groups, and civil and military authorities in an atmosphere of devotion and popular participation.

The celebrations opened on Saturday, December 27, with Holy Mass presided over by Father Alberto Barbaro, animated by the parish of the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima dello Sterpeto, and continued on Sunday, December 28, with Mass by Father Domenico Gramegna and guided tours organized by ArcheoBarletta. Monday, December 29, featured the prayer vigil for young people promoted by the Youth Ministry.

The culmination occurred on Tuesday, December 30th, the liturgical solemnity of the Saint, with numerous Holy Masses including the Archbishop's Pontifical Mass at 11:30 AM, the procession with the Saint's effigy at 8:00 PM, the fireworks display on the Litoranea di Ponente at 9:30 PM, and the concert by the Grande Orchestra di Fiati «Città di Barletta» at 10:00 PM in Piazzetta Mons. Damato. On Wednesday, December 31, a thanksgiving Mass concluded the festivities.
