2025 Edition: Sport and the Olympic Flame

The third edition of the White Night of Sport enlivened Messina on Friday, December 19, 2025, along the Viale San Martino pedestrian area and the city centre streets. There were 51 sports disciplines involved, many of which were lesser-known, with stands and demonstrations distributed along the two lanes of the large pedestrian artery.

The event featured an extraordinary emotional moment with the passage of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Flame, which returned to Messina after twenty years: the torch traveled approximately 7.5 kilometres through the city centre. The following day, Saturday, December 20, the PalaCultura hosted the 'Le Stelle dello Sport' ceremony, awarding approximately one hundred athletes, clubs, coaches, and referees who distinguished themselves during the year, including Olympic and Paralympic excellence.

Friday, December 19, 2025 — White Night of Sport

• Afternoon — opening of stands and demonstrations of the 51 sports disciplines along the Viale San Martino pedestrian area and city centre streets
• Approx. 14:40 – 16:10 — passage of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Flame through the city centre (approx. 7.5 km route)
• Until late evening — exhibitions, open trials, and activities for all ages

Saturday, December 20, 2025 — Le Stelle dello Sport

• From 9:00 — at PalaCultura, awards ceremony for approximately 100 athletes, sports clubs, coaches, and referees who distinguished themselves in 2025, including Olympic and Paralympic excellence
